Bailey Balloons offer hot air balloon flights from launch sites that are
carefully chosen to fly over the beautiful countryside of South West England and
South Wales.
Balloon Rides Bristol - If you take a champagne balloon flight from Bristol you
may fly over the historic harbourside of Bristol, or the Clifton Suspension
Bridge which was built by Brunel and crosses the River Avon set in the deep cut
gorge. Bristol is home to the SS Great Britain and Temple Meads, which was also
designed by Brunel as well as the stunning Redcliffe Church and Bristol
Cathedral.
There are also many open spaces in Bristol such as the Downs and Bristol Zoo.
Thornbury with its beautiful Thornbury Castle, one of our launch sites, sits in
the valley of the River Severn with views of the two Severn Bridges. Further
afield you may also fly over the splendid Mendip Hills, the Chew Valley, Cheddar
Gorge, Glastonbury, Wookey Hole or Wells Cathedral.
Bristol's historical sites include Stanton Drew or Burrington Combe. Westonbirt
Arboretum is especially spectacular in the Autumn but lovely at any time of
year. It is also near to Badminton which is famous for the Badminton Horse
Trials. Other seaside towns in the area worth seeing are Weston-Super-Mare,
Clevedon and Portishead.
Balloon Rides Bath - We also offer balloon rides from the heart of the beautiful
Georgian City of Bath with its world famous Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and the
spectacular Bath Abbey. Among the many museums and art galleries is the Jane
Austin Centre.
Take a balloon ride from Bath and you may fly over wonderful Somerset
countryside including many lovely typical English villages such as Lacock,
Castle Coombe, the market town of Bradford-on-Avon and the historical stones at
Avebury. Adjacent to Bath is the beautiful Limpley Stoke Valley and the American
Museum. The Kennet and Avon Canal goes through Bath and has some wonderful tea
gardens and pubs along its banks.
Balloon Rides Wales - If you're taking a balloon ride in Wales you may fly over
the Usk Valley, Brecon Beacons or the spectacular Sugar Loaf Mountain and views
of the Cats Back on the Black Mountains. There is also beautiful Wye Valley with
its traditional local pubs and the amazing Tintern Abbey.
We often fly near the market towns of Abergavenny and Monmouth. Other beautiful
locations include Raglan Castle, Llanggfd Reservoir, White Castle, Hay-on-Wye,
the Blorange and the Kymim. Near the coast Wales has beautiful locations such as
Castell Coch near Cardiff and Caerphilly Castle. There is also the Gower
Peninsula and Penarth with Barry Island.
