Balloon Festival coming to Tiverton
The residents of Tiverton are gearing up for a weekend of sky high fun next month, when the 2013 Balloon Festival comes back to the area.
The Festival’s programme of events offer something for all members of the family – with entertainment featuring over 35 musical acts, a comedy stage, food pavilion and a wide range of ales and cider from the local area. Visitors will also enjoy mountain bike stunts, vintage aircraft displays, craft stalls, fire and light shows and, of course, a number of colourful hot air balloons.
The balloon launch looks set to be a fine spectacle as a wide range of vessels will be taking to the skies above Tiverton. The main launches will take place on both Friday and Saturday at around 7:00pm. As well as this, at the Fire and Light Night Glow Extravaganza, balloons will be launched at 9:00pm to the synchronised sound of music.
Festival goers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a ride in one of the passenger balloons, which will be filling the skies in stunning convoys. Balloon ride vouchers are available for purchase but must be booked in advance.
General tickets are available to purchase from the website, via telephone or alternatively from any tourist information centre in the area. Family tickets and group booking discounts are also on offer.
A picture list of balloons due to be launched at the festival is displayed on the website, and entries for pilots are still open.
