Europe's largest balloon event helped by Bristol car dealership

The skies of South West England were recently filled with the sight of over 100 hot air balloons, all taking part in the Bristol International Balloon Festival. Bristol welcomed thousands of visitors, as the balloons soared above the city taking in some of the views, which included Clifton Suspension Bridge. The event took place from the 11th to 14th August for this, its 38th year. The hot air balloons arrived from all over the world to take part in Europe's largest balloon festival. The passengers and pilots travelled in style, in a Nissan Navara provided by Wessex Garages, which sponsored Bristol Balloons. The company is given use of the vehicle for one year as part of the sponsorship deal, and it is used to take and collect passengers and the balloon pilot before and after flights. Nighttime visitors to the festival watched pilots light their balloons, accompanied by music and followed by a fireworks display. One couple travelled all the way from China so that they could have their wedding photographs taken in a hot air balloon. The bride had attended the balloon event previously, when she was a student attending Bristol University. The couple, sporting their wedding outfits, was given VIP treatment on the day. Bristol Balloons organises balloon flights from Ashton Court and local areas. The MD of Bristol Balloons, Nic Amor, said that the company was pleased that the car dealership had yet again offered the use of the vehicle.
