Family festival features bulldog-shaped hot air balloons

A new festival offering family-friendly entertainment took place in Nottingham recently. From 27th to 29th May, the Tunes and Balloons Fiesta featured children's attractions, stalls and entertainment for all ages, including hot air balloons. The favourites at the show, held at Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham, included balloons shaped like bulldogs and yoghurt pots to the delight of visitors to the festival. This year was the first time that the festival had been held in Nottingham, featuring tribute acts to Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyoncé. Fairground rides were also an attraction, ranging from traditional favourites for all the family to white knuckle rides. On Saturday night, the balloons were lit up, attracting many visitors who don't get the chance to see a hot air balloon close up very often. One visitor to the fair, Amy Foster-Cobb, had gone along to the fair with her children, saying that her children are always excited to see balloons in the sky but rarely had a chance to see them close up. According to Bert Holland, the organiser of the fair, over 1,500 attended the event on Friday night. He added that by 3pm on Saturday, attendance had already reached the same level. Holland had previously attended a similar event in Birmingham in 2015, and thought it would be a welcome event in Nottingham. Although hot air balloons are a popular sight in the sky, people rarely get the opportunity to view them close up. Balloon flights are becoming increasingly popular with people who want to see more of hot air balloons.
