In Buckinghamshire we often fly from the Black Horse Pub in Great Missenden. The small Buckinghamshire town is well known as being the home of the Roald Dahl museum, opened in 2005 following a £4.5 million pound renovation by the Dahl family.

Great Missenden has been a hub for hot air balloons since the 1980s when pilot Dave Kinsey and his son Steve ran the Black Horse Pub. Many of our pilots have been flying from the pub ever since and have accumulated a wealth of local knowledge over the years. Often when we fly from the pub we are joined by member of the local balloon club who will fly alongside us!

When flying over the rolling Buckinghamshire countryside and the Chilterns, you will often see local landmarks such as the Vale of Aylesbury, the Prime Ministers country house at Chequers, or the National Trust owned Waddesdon Manor to name a few. We may even fly over local towns such as Wendover, Aylesbury or Tring.

Please be aware that our Great Missenden site is reasonably close to Gatwick and Heathrow restricted airspace. Therefore, depending on the wind direction and speed, we may have to relocate to our alternative site at Aylesbury for to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight.
