In Dorset, we fly from our venue at Henstridge Airfield in the north of the county on the Dorset-Somerset border hidden amongst lush green alleys and wooded hills. This ensures we are far enough from the coast to fly in a southerly direction, or across the Blackmore Vale into Somerset or Wiltshire. Dorset is most famous for its Jurassic Coastline, dating back 200 million years! The area is a world renowned UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site and stretched 140km along the coast. More recently it was the setting for the popular TV series Broadchurch.

When flying from Henstridge you are guaranteed spectacular views regardless of which direction you fly. Heading towards Sherborne you can see many medieval buildings, along with the beautiful Abbey, and the famously historic Sherborne Castle built by Sir Walter Raleigh. Alternatively, flying towards the East in the direction of Shaftesbury you will see one of England’s highest and oldest towns, dating back to medieval times. The town was notably loved by Thomas Hardy and used in some of his novels.

When flying from our Dorset site you can also catch glimpses of Weston Super Mare, The Severn Bridge, Poole, Bournemouth, Chesil Beach and Lyme Bay.

Please be aware that we may have to relocate some of our Henstridge Airfield flights to our venue at The Udder Farm Shop in Gillingham due to operational circumstances.
