In North Hampshire we fly from our venues in either Basingstoke or Hook. When flying in North Hampshire, you may see notable locations such as Tylney Hall Hotel, Wellington Country Park, or even the Duke of Wellington’s home at Statfield Saye. We often fly over quaint villages such as Odiham, Hartley Wintney, Crondall, Overton, and Drummer. If we fly towards RAF Odiham you may see some Chinook helicopters and hear their distinct throbbing noise. On occasion we fly over Lasham Airfield, the largest gliding centre in Europe, and the gliders even come up and say hello from time to time!
Please be aware that we have to keep out of Heathrow Airspace and do our best to avoid Farnborough Airport at its busiest times. To ensure you have the safest and most enjoyable flight, which site is used depends on the wind direction, wind speed and other operational factors on the day. Both sites are convenient for the M3 motorway which you will almost certainly see on your flight.
In South Hampshire we fly from our venues at Alton, West Meon or Winchester. When flying in South Hampshire, you can have spectacular views of the City of Winchester and its phenomenal cathedral, the rolling Hampshire landscape, the River Test, the Candovers, and many traditional English villages.
If you are flying near the banks of the River Test you may see large country estates such as Leckford, where Waitrose produce a lot of their food. You can also often catch a glimpse of the Mid Hants Steam Railway that runs from Alton to Alresford, or micro lights flying from nearby Popham Airfield.
Please be aware that we have to keep out of Southampton Airport in Eastleigh, and also keep clear of The Solent! To ensure you have the safest and most enjoyable flight, which site is used depends on the wind direction, wind speed and other operational factors on the day.
