Of course, when spending time in Buckinghamshire, there are so many family-oriented things to do that no matter if you are there for a day or a week, you might never need to venture outside the county’s boundaries at all.

Here are some of the most interesting ativities you and your family can get up to if you live in or decide to take a holiday in Buckinghamshire:

Family hot air balloon flights

As we mentioned, Buckinghamshire is in an ideal location, bordering a number of the most interesting counties in the UK. As such, taking a hot air balloon flight from any location in Buckinghamshire is one of the most exhillarating things you can do as a family.

Popular sites you may get a bird’s eye view of on a fun-packed family balloon trip include the Chiltern Hills, the River Thames, and Bletchley Park – the complex that played a huge role in Britain’s success during World War II.

You may also be lucky enough to see some of the attractions in bordering counties, such as Carfax Tower in Oxford or any number of interesting buildings in the Greater London area.

The Bletchley Park Complex

When you are sightseeing with children, it is always good when you can give them a fun time out, whilst also providing them with an educational experience, and the Bletchley Park Complex fulfills both of these duties perfectly.

Located in Milton Keynes, the Bletchley Park Complex is the famous home of the Enigma Machine, which helped British troops crack German codes during WWII. The complex holds regular events, including secret code workshops, delightful afternoon teas and puzzle events, which will give both parents and kids a mental workout.

Bekonscot Model Village

Lastly, Bekonscot Model Village and Railway is the place to have an easy, entertaining afternoon out with the kids. The oldest model village on the planet, it is the perfect place to bring your children’s imaginations to life as they mingle in the tiny village before enjoying a ride on one of the bet sit-on railways in the country.
