Things to do for a fun day out in Hampshire

The county of Hampshire, often referred to as Hants, is located on England’s south coast. Amongst other things, it is famous as being the birthplace of military institutions including the British Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. There are a number of fabulous tourist attractions in the county, which make it one of the most enjoyable and exciting places to visit within the United Kingdom. Here are just a few of the most fun things you can do on a day out in Hampshire: Hot air balloon rides Hot air balloon flights are launched regularly in the county, which is a particularly popular place for hot air balloon flights in the UK. This is largely thanks to the fact that both the New Forest and South Downs are located there, covering around forty-five percent of the county as a whole. This means that there are spectacular views of the English countryside to enjoy, thanks to the unique perspective a hot air balloon ride provides. Ballooning is a great experience for everyone, from young children to romantic partners who can share a glass of champagne as they take in everything Hampshire has to offer, including the beautiful ponies that roam free in the New Forest. Hawk Conservancy Trust Great for all ages, especially if you are animal lovers, the Hawk Conservancy Trust is an excellent attraction. It will enable you to get up close and personal with beautiful birds of prey and watch them do their stuff in the regular displays that are held there. Go Ape at Itchen Valley For very active families, there can be no greater attraction than Go Ape, which as well as providing a physical challenge, is a great deal of fun. Go Ape enables you to travel through the trees using zip wires, treetop wires and a range of other apparatus to propel you on your journey in a unique and exciting way. Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway If you prefer to explore the countryside in a slightly more sedate manner, however, then you cannot beat a trip to Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway, which was created by Lionel de Rothschild in the ‘20s. It was designed to always showcase the best of the seasons with its mix of beautiful flowers from around the world, and its stunning riverside walks, which are best experienced in spring and summer when the Exotic Garden is in full bloom.
