Three landmarks to look out for while ballooning in Worcestershire

The county of Worcestershire is located in the West Midlands area of England. It is also one of the most popular places to launch hot air balloon flights in the UK. This is because there are so many wonderful landmarks and attractions in the area. If you decide to take a hot air balloon ride in Worcestershire, you should keep an eye out for the following impressive sights, which are especially spectacular when viewed from above:

Worcester Cathedral

Built from 1084 to 1504, Worcester Cathedral is a must see for its spectacular architecture, which encompasses everything from typical English medieval styles to Gothic and Norman designs. Pay particular attention to the spectacular central tower, as its fine woodwork can really be appreciated from the vantage point of a hot air balloon.

Worcestershire Beacon

Also known as Worcester Beacon, this hill has a summit of 1,394 feet, making it the highest point in the spectacular Malvern Hills. If you are lucky enough to be taken over them by the winds, you will be treated to wonderful views of rolling hills, interesting flora and fauna, the Beacon’s famed toposcope, which is located at the summit, and no end of hardworking walkers out to tackle the hills. Dr Who fans may also be interested to know that Worcestershire Beacon was used as a location in The Krotons serial, which was broadcast between 1968 and ‘69.

Spetchley Park

Spetchley Park is a little known gem that is located just to the south of Worcestershire. It is the perfect place to soar over during a romantic hot air balloon ride, thanks to its wonderful floral gardens, which will be sure to take your breath away. Of particular interest is the gardens’ peony section, which is one of the biggest private collections of the flower in the world.
