Balloon Fiesta coming to Bristol
Bristol is set to hold its 35th International hot air balloon festival this summer, with enthusiasts already getting their plans together.
Known as the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, the event will see a collection of over 150 balloons launched over four days in August. The Fiesta has proved to be a very successful and popular event in the past and is the biggest of its kind in Europe. This fact has led it to attract worldwide fame and lucrative sponsorship deals.
It is among the UK’s largest outdoor events, gathering an average of half a million people every year, and is run by a not-for-profit organisation.
In addition to the daily activities, the festival will involve two attractive nightglows, as well as firework displays on the Thursday and evenings. During which, attendees will witness 30 balloons glowing in time to music before an explosive finale.
There will also be a number of attractions to enjoy on solid ground. These include fairground rides, food and drink stalls, an entertainment arena, acoustic musicians and various shopping opportunities.
Bristol’s skies will be filled with balloons as the large crowd gathers to watch from Ashton Court Estate, where the various launches all take place over the weekend of 8-11th August.
Balloon rides are available to the public for the event, and travelling to the Fiesta itself by any mode of transport is straightforward, with Ashton Court situated to the West of Bristol City Centre and multiple parking options available at the destination.
