Bristol is a great city located in the South West of England. If you are looking for a good place to visit in the UK this summer, you should make Bristol top of your list because there are lots of things you can do in the city during the warmer months of the year.

Hot air balloon flights in Bristol

Bristol is one of the most popular places to take a hot air balloon flight, as it is a centre for hot air ballooning, due to the fact that a prominent balloon manufacturing company is located in the area. It’s also home to one of the most popular hot air balloon festivals – Bristol International Balloon Fiesta – which takes place every year, and which will be held between 11-14 August this year.

Of course, you do not have to attend the balloon festival in order to take a hot air balloon rides. Hot air balloon flights will be available at sunrise and sunset throughout the summer months, allowing you to get a birds eye view of Bristol.

Cruise on an iconic vessel

If you happen to be in Bristol on 2-3 June, you will be able to take a cruise around Bristol’s beautiful historic harbour aboard the iconic vessel Matthew. The wooden tall ship is one of the most unique and beautiful vessels in British waters, making for a unique trip that will also enable you to take in the best sights of the city.

Children’s television

Adults and children alike will be delighted by The Story of Children’s Television From 1946 to Today, which takes place at the city’s M Shed between 2 July and 25 September this year. The exhibition charts the development of children’s television from 1946 to the present time, showcasing firm favourites like Morph. Everything from puppetry to CGI is included in the display, which really does have something for everyone.

Mermaid Mondays

Every Monday in August, Bristol Aquarium will play host to mermaid Tamara Treasure, who will delight children with her mesmerizing tales of what it is like to live under the sea. Go ahead to meet her to have your picture taken with a real life mermaid, and be the envy of all your friends!
