Hot Air Balloon to be used as an educational tool
An interactive and informative programme involving balloons is soon to be delivered at schools in Chicago, USA.
The RE/MAX hot air balloon, along with its crew, is scheduled to visit the city’s Lace Elementary and Concord Elementary Schools on May 27th and June 4th respectively.
The programme has received support from the RE/MAX real estate network, which provides a range of brokerage services both residentially and commercially.
The balloon, which was created in 1978, appears frequently at festivals and charity events. The organisation’s “Above the Crowd!” slogan is a familiar sight in the northern Illinois skies.
At both locations the event is to be delivered outdoors, so that the hot air balloon can be fully inflated to its full height of 75 feet. If weather conditions are not appropriate, the balloon will be moved inside and partially inflated using cold air. This will enable the students to walk inside the balloon to enhance their experience.
As well as the network’s hot air balloon, a house-like inflatable that is filled with cold air will also be in attendance, which is said to have become a firm favourite since it was introduced to the scheme a couple of years ago.
The programme enables both faculty and students to get close to the balloons, allowing them to learn about the history of the pastime and the academic principles involved, as well as various other aspects. A demonstration of how hot air balloons work will also be shown.
The RE/MAX team will help to deliver the programme to a number of schools across northern Illinois during the year.
