Popular Coshocton hot air balloon festival returns

A county in Ohio has recently hosted its annual hot air balloon festival for the 33rd consecutive year. Deemed as a popular stop for many balloon pilots, this year saw over 18 hot air balloons head to the Coshocton County Fairgrounds where the event took place, spanning Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th June. Patty Wherley, a member of a local committee, commented:
“They come from all around the surrounding states. We have a pilot from Texas here this year. They all travel on circuits, but the majority of pilots that we have have been with us for decades. They really enjoy flying in this area, and they like Coshocton County.”
The weekend also played host to live entertainment each day and was rounded off with a performance from Danielle Peck, a native of Coshocton. As well as the balloons and live entertainment, festival-goers also had carnival rides, craft stalls, and food vendors to peruse. Those who got to experience the Coshocton Balloon Festival, whether it was their first time or as a seasoned attender, had access to the full range of sights, sounds and activities free of charge. The festival does not levy an entrance charge or even a parking cover, with the live entertainment shows that run from the grandstand also available to all. While food was not free at the event, it was still deemed a cheap day out for families. The committee has already begun making plans ready for next year’s event.
