Three sights and smells of Berkshire to enjoy from above
The county of Berkshire, location in the south east of England, is a beautiful area covering over 1,200 square kilometers, and what better way to see what it has to offer than by taking to skies on a hot air balloon ride?
If you fancy an aerial view on some of the top attractions Berkshire has to offer, here are some sites for your checklist:
1. Windsor Castle
Standing proudly in place since the 11th Century, Windsor Castle has been a place of residence for reigning monarchs since Henry I. There’s no better way to absorb the stunning architecture of the structure than with a bird’s eye view from the sky in a hot air balloon.
2. Ascot Racecourse
Check out the sights of the renowned Ascot Racecourse, famous for its thoroughbred racing events dotted throughout the year.
Royal Ascot week, which takes place in June, sees around 300,000 spectators visit. It’s a mere six miles from Windsor Castle, so you may well get to see both attractions on the same hot air balloon flight.
3. Fudge Kitchen
If you’re lucky enough your path may take you over the Fudge Kitchen, which is quickly becoming a top attraction in the county. As your balloon continues on its journey, you may even catch the scent of creamy and indulgent fudge of varying flavours drifting up to your hot air balloon basket.
A hot air balloon ride is the perfect way to absorb your surroundings. As you fly through the skies, you get a bird’s eye view of a much bigger area than if you were on foot.
The experience gives you access to a completely different perspective of places of interest, so even if you have visited before, you may spot something different when viewing from a different angle.
