Three things to do in Buckinghamshire this October

The county of Buckinghamshire is a great place to visit whether it's for a day or a week, not only because there are always lots of things happening there, but also because the county shares a border with Greater London, which means the opportunities for having a good time are endless. If you are thinking of heading to Buckinghamshire this October, you will not be disappointed by the vast array of activities and events open to you. Here are just three of the things you could do this October: Take a hot air balloon ride Many people who are looking to take a hot air balloon flight do not realise that flights in the UK run from March all the way up to the end of October, and those who are aware of this are often under the impression that a hot air balloon flight so late in the year would not be pleasant. However, taking a hot air balloon ride through the skies of Buckinghamshire in October is a wonderful experience, thanks to the unique atmosphere of the county in Autumn, the changing colours of the leaves, the crisp cool air, and the unique view of landscapes like the Chiltern Hills. Sunny Afternoon There’s no guarantee the weather will be sunny in Buckinghamshire in October, but that won’t stop you from having a sunny afternoon, if you head off to see the acclaimed West End musical, which is based on the music of huge 60s band The Kinks, and which will be at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on the 1st of October. Iconic hits performed in the show, which was the winner of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, include Lola, You Really Got Me, and of course Sunny Afternoon. Hilingdon Literary Festival If you’re more of a bookworm that a Rock ‘n’ Roll fan, you won’t want to miss out on the Hillingdon Literary Festival, which takes place on Friday 7th October until Sunday 9th October. The free festival will feature appearances from a number of famous faces, including comedian Shappi Khorandi, poet Benjamin Zephaniah, and ex-London Major Ken Livingstone, amongst others. Not only that, but it will also feature street food, live music, poetry readings and a whole host of other cultural delights. As you can see, there is no reason to ever be bored in October again, when you take a trip to Buckinghamshire.
