World famous hot air balloons to appear at Scottsdale Stadium
During April 2016, Yoda and Darth Vader will be appearing at Scottsdale Stadium for a special rugby event, as part of the Fiesta Bowl Rugby and Balloon Classic.
On 23rd April, two of the world’s most well-known hot air balloons will feature in the line-up for the Rugby Bowl in Scottsdale, Arizona. Last year’s edition of the event took place in front of a crowd of approximately 5,000.
This year, the event will have a new format, with Mexico’s national rugby team playing against the Arizona State University Men’s Rugby team. It will be the first time a national team has taken part in the event. The Mexican National Rugby Union Team almost qualified for the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and 2015.
As part of the event, the Arizona High School Rugby Championships will take place during the first part of the day. A hot air balloon glow will take place later on, featuring some of the most popular balloons in the world, with some unique designs appearing.
The two most popular, Darth Vader and Yoda, are stars of the show, especially as the film ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is still fresh in everyone’s minds. The balloons are visiting Arizona for the first time, although they have travelled across the world to countries including Russia, Germany and Taiwan.
Hot air balloon rides are a popular feature of many events, attracting loyal followers plus those who would like to experience a view of the country from the skies.
